My love for beautiful interiors is never ending. I love days out to explore all my favourite interior stores and now I have Holloways to add to the top of my list. More than interiors, Holloways offers a destination store that you can easily spend an entire day browsing furniture, lighting, accessories, vintage exterior pieces, explore Neptune, eat lunch and treat yourself to a range of beauty treatments. No, seriously, I think it’s my paradise!
Based near Malvern in Worcestershire, the team at Holloways were kind enough to invite me along to a press day to get a feel for everything that is available on-site and to learn about how Holloways became a hub of contemporary country interiors.
How does Holloways fit with the So Victoria ethos
I am passionate about supporting small business and love using my blog to work with small, women led businesses. Let me tell you about the beginnings of the brand and you will see why it was a yes from me!
Holloways was launched by Diana Holloway 30 years ago and she is still as hands-on and passionate as ever. Serving the rural community on-trend interiors, garden accessories and so much more. It is a labour of love.
Diana joined us on the day and personally took us around the store, sharing how they first launched with conservatory furniture. The movement was inspired by Diana’s mother who was something of an interiors connoisseur and had just treated herself to a brand-new conservatory – a real rarity at the time.
Interior Design Service
For those without the time or inclination to create their interior of dreams, Holloways offers a free design services. The design hub was a gem of fabric books and swatches. I didn’t want to leave! The interior design team pulls together paints, wall coverings, fabrics for soft furnishings and furniture. All you need to do is bring your initial ideas or inspiration and the all important measurements and your project will be managed and delivered to your budget.
The Glasshouse Cafe
The day kicked off with a meet and greet over coffee in The Glasshouse Cafe. The locations is stunning and the Palm Room is a small private dining space that we met in over coffee and tea. The conservatory cafe serves a locally produced, chef-prepared menu that ranges from homemade cakes to tapas.
I really enjoyed the vegetable quiche, ti was rich and flavoursome, a real lunchtime treat that was beautiful balanced by the fresh salad and grains. The menu varies daily with Tapas nights on offer too.
The Sanctuary
The Sanctuary is a luxury purpose built salon at Holloways. The salon is home to a team of beauty experts that over everything from facials to to hairdressing. As well as offering more advanced aesthetic work like microblading, botox and cryo-treatments. As part of the day we were all treated to a treatment of choice. I chose a luxury manicure – it was DEVINE! Most of the products used are vegan and cruelty-free, which is hard to come by. I’ll definitely be back to enjoy more
No! It’s Only Got a Neptune!
Yep, as if the extensive showrooms in the stunning converted hop kilns and vintage heaven courtyard were not enough. There is also a rather substantial Neptune complete with stunning showrooms to showcase the very best of this British interiors staple.
My Holloways Wishlist
I always have a Wishlist. It’s important to make a note of beauties that catch my eye. Take a look at my top picks from my visit:
-
Gold Leaves
So on-trend! Combining foliage with metallic accents is a union made in interior dreams. They are available in a few sixes and I’m thinking a hallway display that will play with the light and catch the the eye as you walk downstairs. Hold my bag, I’m going in!
2. Black Industrial Mirror
I have been searching for this mirror to update my bathroom. The little shelf is ideal for my most used skincare and I have to go back for it. It’s one of those I think about when I’m going to sleep.
What did I bring home?
We were treated to a £50 voucher to update our homes with a touch of Holloways. I agonised – I always do when spoiled for choice. I chose a stunning vase and ornament from Neptune to add a touch of Autumn to my living room. The Beswick vase looks so chic filled with pampas grass and the Tay pinecone is so chic and minimalist. I had to have it! I will be heading back to see the latest additions to the range and of course, I have a Wishlist to indulge in!
Holloways Christmas Shopping Extravaganza
Looking for some festive inspiration? Every year Holloways holds a Christmas Shopping Extravaganza. A range of local boutique fashion and interiors brands set up stalls to create a one-stop shopping attraction to get all your gifts sorted. Entrance is £5 and this goes to the Worcestershire Community Foundation. Love that the event supports both smaller local business and charity too.
The Glasshouse Cafe offers a range of seasonal treats (everything from breakfast to afternoon tea and beyond) too so you can be well fed whilst entertained by the fashion shows. The extravaganza runs from Tuesday 12th November through to Thursday 14th November. Booking is a must!
