Monty made last Christmas so magical – he was a true Christmas gift in every way. His first Christmas with us was filled with such love, large amounts of food and lots of snuggly blankets and jumpers. This Christmas, I’ve been planning the perfect doggy gift list for him and if you’re in need of some inspiration, this is the post for you – a list of must-have presents for the furry baby in your life. Each gift in Monty’s list has been tried and tested by our handsome boy and only the finest quality and most-meaningful buys have made the cut. So without further delay, get Bublé on, pour a mug of festive hot chocolate and pull your beloved pooch close. It’s time to dive right in to Monty’s Christmas gift list.
Pampeano Luxury Leather Collar and Lead Set/ £65 / pampeano
Every doggy Christmas gift list needs a luxurious option and Monty’s choice is pampeano’s leather collar and lead sets. Renowned for their high-quality, hand-stitched leather goods, pampeano’s dog collars and leads offer the finest choices for your beloved pup. I opted for the plain black Argentine leather collar and lead for Monty and their products arrived perfectly packaged for gifting.
Leather collars offer a durable, natural and classically styled choice. They become more beautiful and comfortable with age, as the oils from your dog’s own skin soften the leather over time.
The quality of pampeano’s set is clear at first glance, and with optional personalisation, this set is a special gift that will last a lifetime. The lead is long and strong and the hand stamped ‘Monty’ make me smile every time I pick it up. It will certainly be a lucky pupper that finds one of these underneath the Christmas tree.
The January Rose Hand Stamped Dog Tag / £13.99 / The January Rose
Monty has been a proud January Rose tag wearer for almost a year and his identity tag is so treasured. Louise hand stamps each tag in her Devon studio and the result is a piece that is more than a legality, she creates meaningful and unique pieces that always attract enquiries from his dog-friend moms.
I love the little heart detail beneath his name and the hand-stamped nature ensures every tag is unique. As Monty’s ID ages, it is becoming stamped and marked by his own little adventures that make it extra beautiful. What’s more, there’s something very special about supporting small artisan creators like Louise. Make her Christmas, as well as your fur-baby’s, with a beautiful hand-created tag from The January Rose.
Gor Pets Edinburgh Wax Jacket / £28 / Various Stockists
If you feel you need to wear a coat on your walk, then so does your dog. Dogs with short hair, and more muscular breeds feel the cold and need protection from the elements. Monty is especially sensitive to temperature, his fur is see-though on his chest and belly and staffy’s are well-known for feeling the cold. He is even known to shiver when nipping in to the garden. Needless to say, he has a wide collection of coats that is ever-growing.
A coat is a wonderful Christmas gift and the Gor pets range are a brilliant choice for so many reasons. Gor Pets is a West Midlands based company with a long history of expert garment production for both people and pets. Now focused solely on quality pet care, they really are a brand you can trust.
Monty is enjoying the Edinburgh coat, it’s a wax jacket with a beautifully soft fleece interior that keeps him cosy and dry. What’s particularly good is the way the jacket fastens. Using long velcro straps across his chest and around his tummy means that his coat stays in place. This is often an issue with Monty’s coats as his powerful shoulders work off the jackets. It also makes sizing a doddle as the long velcro is quite forgiving. Did I mention they can go in the washing machine? Perfect for when Montgomery has enjoyed a roll in the leaves.
‘Let’s go for a walk’ Pet Lover’s Bag / £8 / Marks and Spencer
Walkies are a huge part of life with our doggies and a good walking bag is a must for all those strolling essentials. Marks and Spencer’s ‘Let’s go for a walk’ bag is not only a good size and shape, it’s also super-cute! At £8 it’s a great buy for the pooches or the pooch-lovers in your life. I keep one stashed in the car and one next to Monty’s lead, poised for action. The leather-look handles are strong and wide enough to throw over your shoulder too. Perfect!
Mutts and Hounds Neckerchief and Bone Set / £36.98 / Mutts & Hounds
These gifts from Mutts and Hounds proved to be tricky to photograph as Monty kept running off with the squeaky bone. He can now be seen wrestling, squeaking and shaking aforementioned bone on a daily basis. The Monty seal of approval is clear. What stuck me is that an item as beautiful as the Cranberry Stars Cotton Squeaky Bone Toy is that even with Montgomery’s touch and tumble, it still looks as beautiful as it did on day one. It’s incredibly well made with beautiful fabrics.
When paired with the matching neckerchief, which has to be Monty’s Christmas Day outfit, it makes for a really beautiful Christmas gift for your loved one. It has real wow factor. The products are so beautifully made in Britain and inspired by the Cotswolds, the home of the Mutts and Hounds studio. I was so impressed by the products and know I will return for years to come.
I hope you’ve enjoyed Monty’s doggy Christmas gift guide as much as enjoyed making it. I love ensuring that Monty is fully immersed in the festive season and I’d love to know if any of Monty’s choices make into your fur-baby’s stocking this year. Let me know in the comments.
and Monty too!
