Is it wrong to associate the act of pressure washing with the start of summer? I don’t think so! (The pressure washer featured in this post was gifted for the purpose of review by Karcher. )
Pressure Washing = Summer
My Dad was a pressure-washing enthusiast. He worked in the commercial truck industry and was blasting our patio with an industrial washer years before they were available to the general public. After decades of his annual ritual playing out before me, it’s definitely not summer until the pressure washer has been out.
Eleven years ago, when I became the keeper of my very own back garden, I excitedly purchased a basic washer for the grand total of £25. It didn’t do an amazing job, but I felt I could mark the change of seasons and get the yard looking summer-ready.
In-fact, I have never known any other pressure washer than my first. You can’t use any detergents. The spray is so small it takes an age to clean anything and it’s sprung a leak so a jet of water shoots you in the groin as you go. It’s fair to say an upgrade was needed.
We have two patio areas in our garden, as well as a concrete pathway and plenty of outdoor furniture too. The cars can always do with a good wash while I’m at it. I knew that whatever pressure washer I chose would have to be incredibly versatile but most importantly compact. Outside storage is in high demand!
Karcher K4 Full Control
There is no better brand than Karcher when it comes to Pressure Washer cleaners. They are the original and definitely the best, with over 80 years of research and development being invested in their cleaners you know you are getting the very best available on the market.
The K4 Full Control contains everything you need to clean just about everything in your home. Be it the car, the garden furniture or patio, this kit ha an attachment that will do the job. You can use detergents to aid deep cleaning and what’s even better is that it all fits compactly into itself. (An absolute must for my tiny storage.)
A little assembly is required when you first set up your washer. Just simple things like adding the wheels and storage compartment. The instructions were really easy to follow and I was ready to connect the hose within a few minutes.
Patio Cleaning Time
I hadn’t touched this patio since last summer and it shows. There was a build of dirt and debris that only a high-powered pressure washer could shift. I used the patio and stone cleaner and the dirt blasting lance that uses a high powered spiral blast of water to shift the toughest of dirt from the hardest of surfaces.
I couldn’t believe how quickly the lance worked, it took a third of the time of my previous washer and shifted more of the darkest stains that had been there a good while.
For the sections closes to the doors and windows I used the T350 patio cleaning attachment. In all honesty, I didn’t think this would work as well as the dirt blasting lance. However, the patio came up just as bright and clean but with no splashes. Definitely reducing the post pressure wash clean up!
After I’d finished I used a damp cloth to wipe away any dirt that hand flicked up onto the equipment and packed away the attachments. Having places to store everything really makes a huge difference and I have plenty of room to store the unit.
I’m absolutely delighted with the quality and performance of the Karcher K4 Full Control and know it will mark the start of summer for many years to come. The patio is now ready for the season of sunshine and is set for lots of outside relaxing. My only question is, what is next to get the full K4 treatment?
